Jacob pushed himself to his feet, still amazed. "No, no, no," he breathed, "Don't be sorry. I know you can't help it yet." He put more pressure against the two little holes in his neck, stopping the blood from flowing out of them.
He smiled at Nex. It was small and weak, but it was there. He let out a small laugh. "Don't get me wrong, I knew it had to stop, but, wow." He exhaled quickly and roughly, another tremor passing through him. "That was one of the best experiences of my life."
His next laugh was nervous. He shouldn't have said that last part. If he had just said that it was the best, he wouldn't have to grow worried of any questions. But Nexilia wasn't like that, was she? She wouldn't probe into his personal life, would she?
Well, you've done enough probing yourself, it would only be fair, a small voice whispered in the back of his head. Jacob felt his unease grow. No, he told himself firmly. She isn't like that as far as I know. Plus she probably didn't even catch it.
Mentally shrugging, Jacob split his attention in half. One half went up, to the wolf drawn on the ceiling that he would have to take care of sooner or later. His eyes went there, too.
The other half went down, to the party in his pants. Oh, God, his mind groaned. He turned himself around, still examining the ceiling, but hiding his 'little friend' from Nexilia's line of sight.

Nexilia cocked her head at Jacob. How could he think almost getting the life sucked out of him was a great experience? She felt horrible about it, and honestly doubted the pangs of guilt in her stomach would ever subside. She really wished she hadn't agreed to let Jacob be her consort. She'd much rather live off of animals then him. And she could see it now, the things she had heard about mortal's addictions to being fed off of seemed to be true in Jacob.
"Jacob, please don't ask me to feed off you again. For at least a few days. I need time to adjust, and you need to recover from your blood loss. I'll be fine with hunting." she said, staring at the wolf Jacob was also staring at. She wanted to ask what he found so riveting that it kept his gaze there, but didn't bother.

Jacob felt something inside of him tell him to argue with her, to tell her that he would be fine if she fed again. But he used his logical thinking. "Alright," he said, backing up to look up at the drawing more comfortably, keeping his front out of view "Stick to animals for now. Just promise me you won't go feeding off some bum on the street, okay?" He flashed her a smile. It really would be gross to know that her teeth would sink into his skin after being in a dirty old bum's.
OOC:: sorry so short.

Nex laughed. "Don't worry, I'll stick to the animals." she said, giving him a small, forced smile. She was lying. She didn't know who or what she might feed off of if hungry enough. But at least Jacob agreed not to have her feed off of him for awhile. She really just needed time to adjust and learn control.
Nex sighed inwardly, she couldn't believe she was still thirsty. How much blood would she need? It wasn't a horrible, needy thirst. Just a small ache in her veins letting her know she wanted to drink more. Nex pointedly ignored the feeling. She'd feed later.

Jacob decided to pull his eyes away from the ceiling. His 'problem' was no longer there. Instead he walked across the room, to his dresser, and pulled open the top drawer. Inside - beneath the socks and boxers - were many papers of past drawings in the ceiling. He plucked his camera from the drawer and turned it on.
"I really like this one," he said softly, studying it thoughtfully. "But I'd be dead meat if I left it up there. Plus it's kinda creepy." He raised the camera to his eye and focused it. He paused, lowered the camera, and walked further to the center of his room.
Perfect.
Lifting the camera back to his face, Jacob pressed the capture button, smiling as he heard the satisfying shutter sound. He pulled the camera back and took a quick look at the image. It was perfect.
Smiling, Jacob walked back to his dresser and placed his camera back inside, pushing the drawer shut.
"I'll wash it off later when you aren't here," he said, joining Nex on his bed. He gave a rather girlish smile and added in a gay voice, "I'm so unattractive when I'm cleaning."

Nex laughed, a flirtatious smile warily replacing her frown. "I don't know, I find men who clean quite attractive." she purred, briefly forgetting she and Jacob were already together and the other problems that were forced into her life. As both realizations hit, Nex felt a flood of tears rush to her eyes, which she forced down as quickly as they had come. In response to these constant mood swings and tears, Nex was furious. She had never been the type to blubber like a baby. Or even get so upset over a situation. This was all new to her.
She looked at Jacob, wanting to do something. She wanted activity, movement. A walk or something. Although she didn't know if Jacob would want to try leaving the house with his dad awake. Maybe she should just go on her own...she could always go hunt after all.
With a sigh, Nex began pacing across the room. She knew she was so fidgety because of being a new vampire, and it was extremely annoying. Gone were the evenings alone in the bath tub, candles lighting the room, incense contributing its alluring scent, and being alone and relaxed with her thoughts. Closing her eyes, Nex could imagine for an evanescent moment she was there again. Then she opened her eyes to reality. Her new, finely tuned, heightened eyes.

Jacob smiled sadly as he watched Nex pace. He knew that walk. She was anxious. She wanted to do something. His mother had always used to walk like that when she wanted to go outside and garden or something. She was always a big fan of gardening. It made her feel human, seeing that all the other human women would garden a lot. She took to the hobby quickly.
"Hey, Nexilia," Jacob said softly, "you want to go for a walk? You're anxious to do something." He smiled that sad smile again. Nex reminded him a lot of his mother; determined, independent, and confused about what she really was. But his mother lost her battle against her confusion, being shot down by what she so badly wanted to be.
He stood up and walked to his window, pushed it open, and quickly turned around. He gestured to Nex to stay put for a minute, and vanished from his room, descending the stairs.
"Sir," he caled quietly, a loud grunt being his reply, "I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight." Hearing another grunt of approval, his took the stairs, returning to his room.
He walked to the window with a triumphant smile. "I'm going to bed," he said softly. He gestured to the window; their door for now. "Or so he thinks." He pointed to the floor.

Nex smiled at Jacob, silently thanking him for understanding. She walked to the open window, lifting herself into the sill and dropping out of it. She landed on her feet, wincing at the sound of her heels driving into the ground below her. She was scared to look at the damage to her shoes, and took an experimental step forward. She could still walk steadily.
With a small smile the excitement of the night brought, Nex waited for Jacob. She drew in a deep breath, finally having time to marvel at her rightened senses. She could smell everything. She could hear everything. For once, since becoming half vampire, she felt in control. The same feeling raising corpses brought to her. She had missed this feeling. A lot.

Jacob smiled as he watched Nex slip from the window sill. He threw himself from the window, taking form as a hawk and fluttering to the ground, changing human once more about six feet above the ground. He landed with a soft grunt in a feral crouch, his human body taking the fall a little roughly. He stood up, brushing off his pants.
Jacob looked over at Nex, smiling at the expression playing over her features. She looked truly happy. "Care to take a stroll with a lowly shape-shifter, my lady?" he asked properly, bowing to her. He bit the inside of his mouth to hold down a laugh. He lifted his face to her, waggling his eyebrows with a sly smirk before rising to his full height and offering out his arm for her to take.

Nex laughed and took Jacob's arm, if a little hesitantly. Contact was still enough to get her a little excited. She inwardly shrugged away that thought. The best way to deal with it was to ignore it. That's how she'd gotten through her childhood of seeing and speaking to ghosts. She'd also learned to embrace who she was. Instead of fearing the ghosts, believing herself to be insane, she chose to befriend the supernatural. Although, her life of talking with the deceased war victims, suicide-bombers, lost and hopeless kids had made being around humans almost unbearable. They caused their world so much strife, poverty, and loss. Slowly, they were destroying the only place their weak kind could live on.
Nexilia pushed those thoughts to a dark corner of her mind, focusing on Jacob and the moment. Those accusations and angers would come back soon enough, but for now she'd leave them tucked away.
"Where do you propose we go, my good sir?" she asked with a smile.

Jacob tasted the cool air, let it run teasingly over his skin. "How does the shore sound to you?" he asked. The feel of sand underfoot had always calmed him during stressful times. It had been a long time since his last visit there. He could already taste the bitter sweet air, tinged with the salt of the ocean.
Jacob brushed back his hair with a couple fingers. " It's up to you, madam."

Nex immediately liked the idea. She hadn't been to the shore for such a long time. It would be nice to just relax for awhile, the moonlit ocean and sand the only scenery for miles. She just really hoped the nymphs weren't out. They never made for a good third wheel, often leaving you boyfriend/friend/significant other-less. It'd happened once or twice to her already, although those guys had been more tools than boyfriends. Most of the guys she'd let hang out with her had been just that -- tools. She usually only wanted something out of them, like money, and they only wanted one thing out of her: her body. She'd never felt offended, or ashamed by what she did. It was the best way to get around. Survival of the fittest and all that.

Jacob led the way to the shore, letting the stillness of the night soothe him from the day's earlier events. The shore would do the both of them good.
Reaching the shore, Jacob led Nex to the water's edge, letting it touch the toes of his shoes. Salt stung his taste buds, filled every crack and crevise in his senses. "It's been a long time since I've been here," he admitted. He had only come here during the first couple weeks after his family had crossed through Midnight's Door.
That had felt like ages ago. He had only come here when his grief for his mother had started to overwhelm him. This had been his venting place for a while. But after his father had turned on him, he stopped coming, replacing his grief with a hollow emptiness that he filled himself with to blot out the pain. He hadn't needed the shore.

She could smell the salty tang of the ocean well before it was in sight. As they walked up to the water's edge, her nose was flooded with the ocean scents. It was nice, not smelling blood, adrenaline, flesh, fear, only salt and wind. She breathed in deeply, taking in the first deep breath she'd had since awakening her new powers as a mutt.
"Me too, I can't remember when I came here last." Nexilia said quietly, not feeling quite right about disturbing the calm quiet with her loud voice.
She knelt down by the water, letting her hands cup some. She watched her reflection in it, startled by how normal she looked. She kept expecting to see a monster instead of herself, but Nex looked about the same as when she was a plain old Necromancer.
