"Sounds great," Kyle said with another large smile. A diner sounded nice, considering his breakfast had consisted of a cold slice of leftover pizza. He casually rested a hand in his pocked, discreetly opening his wallet enough to count his money. He only carried tens on him, and he had about 50 dollars on hand, so he could easily pay for both of them. He'd feel like a jerk making Isaac pay for him when he'd suggested the idea.
He followed beside Isaac, tilting his head up as he walked. Some strands of his bangs fell into his eyes, and he blew up in an attempt to blow them aside. Each attempt seemed to mess it up more, and finally he gave up, laughing softly to himself as he ran a hand through his hair to clear his vision.
It feels great to be out here, Kyle thought to himself, just enjoying the feel of nature. He hadn't had a break from the computer in such a long time, he sort of missed just walking and getting high on life.
Kyle hunched forward a little when he remembered he was with someone else and had just acted like a four year old. He glanced sideways at Isaac, hoping he hadn't been paying attention. If he kept that up, he'd definitely lose his new friend.

Isaac saw it from start to finish. How could he have not been looking at Kyle, anyway?
When Kyle looked at him, Isaac felt a pure grin break over his lips. And maybe for the first time in months, he threw his head back and laughed. It felt like it had been ages. Maybe he hadn't laughed like this since he was still only seventeen.
"You know," he managed once his laughter subsided, "they make these great things called scissors. You could trim those so they stay out of your eyes." And without thinking, Isaac reached out to Kyle and brushed his bangs to the side, peeking behind the mask of hair to stare into his eyes.
They were breath-taking. A beautiful green, with a stunning hazel crown. Isaac found himself staring for a second. Quickly, he withdrew his hand and tucked them into the pockets of his jeans. "I like your eyes," he admitted, deciding to be truthful and open for a minute. "You shouldn't hide them like you do."
Tipping his chin back, Isaac looked at Kyle with his big blue eyes, framed with their black mask, and flashed him a warm smile. He didn't need to put on makeup to make his eyes beautiful, unlike Isaac. Isaac had always found the blue of his eyes just plain without a rim to make them pop. Call it a security issue, but Isaac felt wrong without his eyeliner. He just never felt like he added up without it.

Kyle felt a light blush color his cheeks. He's never had his eyes complimented before. Eyes weren't something he ever noticed, so he never felt his to be very special. It felt nice though, to be complimented like that. He really did like the feeling.
"Th-Thanks," he stammered, not sure how to respond. It wasn't every day he was receiving compliments about his eyes from guys. And as he stared back at Isaac's eyes, he realized he did like the makeup. It was very fitting on him.
"You're great with your makeup," he told Isaac, again feeling a little awkward. He wasn't used to giving compliments, especially to guys, or to a guy wearing makeup. It felt nice though, to just relax with someone else, to say whatever without being judged. He liked the feeling, a lot.

Isaac felt an incredible urge to hug Kyle. He hadn't meant to make him uncomfortable with the compliment, if that's what it was. But the blush told him that Kyle wasn't complimented frequently. Isaac was gay; he knew these things.
When Kyle said he liked the makeup, Isaac felt his heart swell and nearly pop. "Thank you!" he chirped cheerfully. A blush colored his cheeks, but he hardly noticed. His work of art that he wore every day, and it was being complimented by a boy he had just met, had nearly run-over, and was unbelievably fine.
"I think you're the first to say something nice about it," Isaac beamed. "Most people who see it think I'm like, an emo cutter, or something." Isaac held out his wrists, showing they were vacant of scars. Never had he taken a blade to his wrist. But right after he had turned eighteen, he had started taking a razor to his inner thighs, cutting just to help ease the stress. It was his way of coping. Of course, now he regretted it. But regret wouldn't heal the little raised scars on his legs.
He smiled at Kyle again. "I'm glad someone other than me likes it."

"Really? You don't get complimented on it?" Kyle asked. He'd figured some people would like it, even if he hadn't at first. "And if people think you cut just because you like makeup, they're obviously assholes." he added, giving Isaac a smile. He didn't like to swear, but sometimes he just found it fitting.
"Come on, we should hurry up to that diner. My legs are starting to hurt. Obviously I need to hit the gym some more." Kyle said with a laugh. He lifted his shirt, deciding to check the damage. It had been so long since he'd went to a gym. Thankfully, he still had abs, no blubber. He didn't look like he did when he played football, but a some of that muscle remained. It was enough to keep him healthy looking, and his running kept him lean.
Nah, I don't need the gym. he decided in his head. Gym's were boring anyway.

Isaac had already nodded when Kyle lifted his shirt up. He almost froze mid-step to stare, but he stared. Oh, yeah. Isaac knew that was something he wanted. Kyle was mad to say that he was unfit. That body was on fire.
Shaking himself mentally, Isaac smiled nervously for the fifth time and turned away, leading Kyle down the street, past his house, and to a little diner. The place was obviously going to go out of business within a year. It hardly ever got a full house.
Holding the door open for Kyle, Isaac motioned for him to go first. There was a tired-looking waitress behind the counter, chewing a pencil out of boredom. She perked up in the least when the boys came in. Old tunes were playing drowsily through the place.
"I can pay for everything," Isaac said quietly. "Get whatever you want." He never liked to talk loud in here. His hand plunged into his back left pocket, where his wallet sat every time he went out. He pulled it out and flipped it open.

"Oh no, I'll pay. I've got fifty bucks that I've had for the past week without spending a dime. I need to get rid of it somehow." Kyle said. He fished out his own wallet, knowing he'd feel terrible if he were to let Isaac pay. "So you get whatever you want." he added, his smile big and sincere. He would really feel terrible for letting his new friend pay.

Isaac blinked at Kyle. That was new. Isaac was used to paying for everything. Ever since he was old enough to get a job, he was paying for everything he wanted. It all came out of his pocket. But that smile was so hard to argue with, so welcoming.
"Are you sure?" he asked. "Really, it's no trouble if I pay, Kyle." He gave the boy a smile of his own. "Please, I insist."
The girl behind the counter watched them with little interest. "You two gonna order or just verbally make out?" she called out. She didn't look like she was in the best of moods.

"Oh! I'm so sorry miss. I didn't really think that we were disrupting you." he called back, blissfully unaware that he was just called gay by the lady. "We'll be just a minute longer." He gave him his large smile, then turned back to Isaac.
"Come on, Isaac. We both know if I don't spend my money on someone else, I'll just waist it all on junk food and caffeine." he winked, before continuing. "And I'm attempt to preserve my body until I'm at least 20."
He had already pulled out the five tens, and gave Isaac a pleading look. He hated feeling guilty for not paying.

He winked.
Isaac nearly melted under Kyle's gaze. "U-um, a-alright, I guess," he stammered, shutting his wallet and tucking it back into his pocket. He felt heat searing his cheeks. It hadn't mattered that the counter lady had insulted the both of them. Kyle had winked at Isaac, smiled so sweetly. How could he say no?
Trying to hide his blush, Isaac led Kyle up to the counter, where the woman was waiting impatiently. She was shooting daggers at Kyle for his rude remark - though hers had been worse.
Isaac caught her eye and she looked up at him. He looked at her down his nose, and she instantly recoiled. She dropped her head and pulled out a pad and pen. "What can I get you boys?" she said in a nervously cheery voice.
Isaac smiled at her. "Give me your sweetest latte, please" he said politely. "That's all for me." Isaac usually avoided anything in the mornings. Morning food was unhealthy, in his mind.

"Just a burger for me. Meat and cheese, no veggies." he said, sliding three of the tens over the counter without waiting for her to ring anything up. He knew thirty would cover it, and maybe afford her a nice shirt or something. He put away his wallet.
"Thanks for putting up with me," he told her, giving her a crooked smile. "Sorry we took so long."
He glanced at Isaac, then back at the woman, wondering why she liked him so much more. Kyle was used to girls being nice to him, although he could live without the occasional attention.

The girl took the money with a grateful smile after ringing up the total and punching it in. "Take a seat, gentlemen," she said sweetly, mainly looking to Kyle. "I'll bring everything out in a bit." And with a little twirl, she turned and vanished into the kitchen.
Isaac almost sneered at her retreating self. What a suck-up!
Turning to Kyle with a bright smile, Isaac led him to a tall table near a window. "She's a moody one," he told him. "Must be that bloody time for her." He shuddered. Ew, girl parts. He had decided long ago that women were somehow connected with Satan. Seriously, what else could bleed for a week and live?
Isaac turned his gaze to look outside the window, resting his chin in his palm and propping his elbow on the table. Then he shifted his eyes to Kyle. He had acted so sweet to her, so quickly. A damper on Isaac's hopes, maybe? No, it was positively. He had flirted with a girl. One who had insulted him, called him gay. And he tipped her for it. Isaac felt his heart drop into his stomach like a stone.
Quietly, he crossed his legs neatly under the table and returned his stare out the window. "It was nice of you to tip her," he said quietly, if not with a hint of bitterness touching his voice. He tried a smile, but it was small.

"Yeah I tipped her, she's obviously having a pretty rough day. I figured something like some extra money would cheer her up a little." Kyle answered with a shrug. He tipped his head to one side as he registered the sad smile on Isaac's face. He grinned and pulled the twenty out of his wallet, holding it near Isaac. "I'll tip you too." he said, laughing, but leaving the money on the table anyway. He really didn't need it, Isaac or someone else could have it.
Then he leaned over the table, poking Isaac's shoulder. "Is your window a better conversationalist than me?" he asked, chuckling.

Isaac couldn't stop the smile. He giggled without noticing it, and flicked the money back to Kyle, turning his head from the window. "He doesn't answer any of my questions," he said with a smile, gesturing to the window. "So I guess you top him."
Or me. Isaac almost slapped himself. His cheeks warmed again at the mere two words. Thoughts he knew he shouldn't have flooded his mind, and he crossed his legs a little tighter than he should. One of his knees bumped the under side of the table.
He was never so happy to the the cashier. She set a tray down on the table, gave a sweet smile to Kyle, a nervous one to Isaac, turned, and left. Isaac took his latte from the tray and took a drink, smiling with the sweetness of it. For a while, it distracted him from his thoughts.

Kyle watched Isaac with a bemused smile on his face. That kid was definitely acting weird, but Kyle had begun to see that Isaac was definitely not normal. That was good though, Kyle didn't like normal. Normal was positively boring.
"Thanks, now I have new bragging rights. I happen to be more interesting than a window." Kyle said with a chuckle.
As the waitress brought their food, Kyle flashed her another bright smile, pleased to see her mood had improved. He grabbed his burger off the tray, hungrily biting into the sandwich. It was good, but dry. He wouldn't complain, though. It was still pretty good.
After the first few starved bites, Kyle sighed inwardly. He'd have to buy himself a drink.
"Isaac, so you want anything else? I need to get a drink. My burger is way too dry. Kyle said, fishing out the twenty.
